Holistic Thai Healing
The Sala Spaya philosophy follows that of Traditional Thai Therapy (TTT). It is a life philosophy that comprises of three essences:
1. Body
(the physicals)
2. Citta / Mind
(the non-physicals e.g. mind/heart, inner-self, soul, emotions)
3. Lom
(the energy that connects the Body and Citta)
The belief is that human suffering arises from the imbalance of these three essences.
Traditional Thai Medicine (TTM) is a ancient Health Care System of methods and practices indigenous to Thailand that seeks to return balance between the Body and Mind.
Methods tend to be treatments and includes the method Nuad Thai (Thai Yoga Massage) which was recognized by UNESCO in the 2019 Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
This has given much credibility to TTM as a viable option to those seeking peace and harmony from busy stressful lives.
Practices tend to be in the form of physical and mindfulness classes. Along with learning workshops and experiences, these encourage self-help, which is often recommended to extend the benefits from therapy and are your life-style choices.
Interestingly, this part of the TTM approach is aligned to the UK's NHS recommendations for better health:
1. Be Mindful
2. Be Physically Active
3, Learn New Skills
4. Connecting With Other People
5. Give to Others
Customised Therapy
The holistic nature of our retreats means that the programme of therapies are customized to a body constitution. An initial consultation will therefore be necessary to understand the client's requirements and taking into consideration any problem areas before a recommended programme is agreed.
