My Journey

My name is Chomnaphat and I founded Sala Spaya as a result of my own personal journey to well-being and my desire to help people on their own journeys.

Coming from a line of traditional holistic healers sparked a passion in me to continue this line of healing.   I learnt from practitioners in my family before my professional Traditional Thai Therapy (TTT) training began at the world recognized Wat Po Traditional Medical & Massage School, Bangkok. This was followed by training at the Bangkok Beauty and Spa School in 2004. In the same year I opened my first spa business, Pangrum Spa.

Relocating to the UK with my husband in 2006 was challenging, requiring major adjustments to a western life style.  To connect to other people, I commenced my UK wellness experience working freelance at Cranwell House, a beauty clinic in Ingatestone,  until the birth of my first son.  Whilst this happy event provided me with immense joy, there was also a feeling of isolation and the worry of life becoming  "just-too-much",  feelings many a new mum would recognize.   Daily meditation and practice of yoga helped me be mindful, feel calm, and remain physically active.

Moving to Bermuda in 2011 presented further changes and took me even further away from my family and friends.  Through meditation I realize how lucky I really was; to bring up my family in this beautiful country.  I took the  the opportunity to give to others  and inspired me to start a charity project  "Dream Classroom"  in 2014.  Dream Classroom's mission was to provide education to disadvantaged children 2 - 7 years old  from the rural villages in the Tansum District, my father's home-town.  The project involved everything from the construction of the school building and the provision of all resources to help run the school.

In 2017 we returned to the UK.  Since then I have extended my knowledge of various therapies and techniques.  This included training in Tok Sen and spinning meditation from the Nuad Toksen Sri Pai Council; training in Thai Warrior Yoga from Master Jack Shaman; and VTCT level-3 qualifications in Stone Therapy, Swedish Massage and Nuad Thai.

I am also passionate about the art of cooking, especially Thai food.  Rather than follow a recipe I prefer to cook from the heart using fresh local ingredients that follow the seasons. When carried out properly, cooking can be a meditation by focusing on the present moment using the five senses.

I received a professional cooking diploma in Thai Cuisine from Thai and International Technological College 2014

My  desire to continue to help people with life's sufferings has led me to develop a programme of experiences that will enable my clients to benefit from my philosophy of well-being, the Sala Spaya philosophy

I truly believe that great health is the foundation of happiness and this is my motivation for Sala Spaya.
